Applications are now open for an upcoming Bitcoin SV (BSV) hackathon, where the world’s best developers will compete to create applications for bitcoin BSV.
The Bitcoin Association hackathon event, sponsored by CoinGeek, will be run by blockchain advisory and development group nChain. The virtual event is scheduled to take place on August 17, with teams competing virtually to create, pitch and win prizes in BSV.
Teams can enter from anywhere in the world, with the best creations given the chance to pitch to investors at CoinGeek Seoul in October. The best ideas are in the running to win prizes in BSV, following the success of the initial hackathon event.
In May, finalists of the inaugural BSV virtual hackathon were flown to Toronto for the final stages of the hackathon. Teams can consist of any number of coders; however, the online application form requests sign-up details for up to five individuals.
The application process is by simple web form, with team member name and contact details required for each participant. The form can be completed in under two minutes, with the Bitcoin Association hopes will make participation as straightforward as possible.
The virtual BSV hackathon is designed to showcase new innovations with Bitcoin SV, which is increasingly becoming the development blockchain of choice.
As well as team entries, individuals are welcome to enter the hackathon in their own right.
The finalists from the first hackathon event were announced back in May, with 14 projects selected from the submissions from a total of 216. The quality of entries was so high that the judges named 14, rather than the originally expected 10, semi-finalists, and from there, the entries were narrowed to the top 3: TonicPow, UptimeSV,
